Style Muse: Just Patience

Describe your style: I would like to think it’s classic with a little bit of edge.

What piece in your closet can you not do without? I can’t do without my cords, flats and leather jacket

Which trend will you never be caught in?  I can’t think of anything rights now.

Where do you normally shop? I usually shop the most from J-Crew, Forever 21 and Saks.

What factor most influences your style?  My mood usually decides that. I don’t wear heels if I am in a bad mood.

Who is your style muse?  Miranda Kerr, Jackie O, Victoria Beckham and Grace Kelly. An odd mix, right?

Where do you usually get your styling inspiration from?  From magazines, other bloggers and from my friends

What one style advice will you give a ‘wannabe fashionista’?  Just wear what makes you the most comfortable and confident. Nothing is hard on the eyes like an uncomfortable fashion.

Check out more of her style on her beautiful blog, Just Patience, which features outfits, fashion, beauty and food.

Nigerian Queens and Kings from Purple Pepper

Purple Pepper Clothing is a ‘progressive brand primarily based on revitalizing and rejuvenating the Pan-African experience using funky ethnic motifs and graphics’. Their debut collection was the T-shirt range titled Play Your Cards Right.

When I first saw the tees I didn’t think there was anything special about them- just the usual Kings, Queens and Jokers on cards. But look a little closer and honestly, I almost shouted with glee. The Kings and Queens are not the conventional Edwardians, but Nigerians from the Yoruba, Ibo, Hausa and Benin tribes, all adorned regally in their traditional royal outfits.

The idea behind these tees is so original and refreshing. The tees are available at the Retrospective Shop in Lagos. To learn more about them, visit their Facebook page or/and email them via info@purple-pepper.com

Tribal Business Cards

Jordan Metclef designs these beautiful business cards that I wish I had thought of first. They are so simplistic but different from the norm in many beautiful ways. Their colo ris based on black with simple white design lights (instead of the conventional white background). They are shaped in a triangle instead of the usual rectangle. I love this because a triangle signifies balance, energy, unity and stability.
